Home > Cottages > Atherstone Farmhouse at Dillington EstateAtherstone Farmhouse is picture-perfect, with its white iron fence, thatched roof and pretty wisteria adorning stones walls, this quaint cottage provides a beautiful retreat surrounded by glorious Somerset countryside
The farmhouse dates back to the 17th Century and you can marvel at its history as you explore; stone floors, ancient oak beams and a large stone fireplace have been lovingly retained as part of the restoration. The open plan kitchen and dining room is made for hearty meals surrounded by family and when plates are clean and glasses are empty, you can sink into sofas telling stories into the night huddled around the cosy wood burner. Four welcoming bedrooms all with en-suite allow you to relax and unwind in total bliss, and the fluffy white robes add a sprinkling of luxury too.
Outside, the pretty garden lends itself to summer feasts and barbecues in the sunshine. As night falls and the stars dance, you can sink into the soothing wooden hot tub with a glass of something chilled.
Days can be spent getting lost in the beautiful countryside that surrounds the cottage and the 3000 acre Dillington Estate. Long walks will end with hearty meals in a good pub and a trip to Somerset wouldn’t be complete without a taste of the local scrumpy.
