Lake District
Home > Cottages > Beatrix CottageA delight of traditional architecture and vibrant foliage in the stunning, rural environment of Troutbeck Valley, Beatrix Cottage is a luxurious holiday home for ten guests. The Lake District has a wealth of experiences on offer – hiking, cycling and water-sports, not to mention climbing, hot air ballooning and orienteering.
Inside, the décor is as charming and rustic as the exterior, with original wooden beams stretching across the ceiling and a range cooker in the charming kitchen. The kitchen is certainly a highlight of the home, with plenty of space and a lovely adjoining breakfast table for casual meal times. A more formal dining table is in the modern part of the home and includes a large and beautiful wooden table with ten comfortable leather seats. The living room is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of chairs and sofas for the whole group to gather together for some quality time around the open fire.
There are five comfortable bedrooms in total each well appointed. There are two rooms with king-size beds and two with double-beds, as well as a twin room. The décor is light and lively, with a recent renovation creating a sleek and stylish space in which you can relax and unwind after a day of adventure in the Lake District. The accompanying bathrooms include separate bathtub and showers and the same elegant, contemporary style.
And finally, there is a tranquil garden where on a sunny day you can absorb the peace and tranquillity of the area. Settle around the dining table to enjoy a view of this delightful traditional 17th century home set against the stunning backdrop of the Troutbeck Valley. A large lawn is great for fun and games with the children, and there’s a second summerhouse tucked away at the far end. There’s plenty of room for bike storage so do bring yours along if you’re that way inclined – or, if you’d rather a hike, rest assured that some of the UK’s finest walking terrain begins on your very doorstep.
And what’s more, you’re ideally placed to enjoy the livelier sights of the region, with several country pubs nearby and just a short drive to Ambleside and Windermere.
