Sayer’s Mansion holds a truly magnificent position. Built in 1827 by Robert Sayer, who was once the Sheriff of Suffolk, the grade II* listed Georgian house makes a truly luxurious base for a special occasion, a family get-together or a reunion of friends.
Those fortunate enough to stay here, will get a sense of the grandeur on arrival, sweeping up the serpentine driveway and over the ornamental bridge, to be greeted with the honey coloured stone façade and iconic entrance pillars. The sense of opulence continues throughout the home, on the ground floor is the impressive living accommodation comprising of a number of reception rooms, including the drawing room, cosy Library, Moroccan-inspired TV room, formal dining room, ideal for special occasions, and the bright kitchen with relaxed breakfast dining facilities. Also on this level is the first of the bedrooms, a king-size double with en-suite bathroom. On the lower ground floor is a further entertaining space, comprising of a cinema room, games room and even a gym.
Upstairs, on the first floor, are the first seven bedrooms, six of which feature en-suite bathroom facilities, while guests staying in the remaining bedroom can make use of the next-door adjoining bathroom. On the second floor, are the remaining six bedrooms, five doubles and one single, two of the rooms have their own en-suite facilities, while the others share the use of a family bathroom which is also accessible, Jack & Jill-style, from one of the bedrooms. In total, the home can comfortably sleep up to twenty-seven guests, across its fourteen beautifully-appointed bedrooms.
Outside, enjoy balmy Summer evenings dining al fresco on the terrace. Spend dream-like days, exploring the grounds on bicycles, enjoying competitive games of tennis or, for the more adventurous, choose to hire rowing boats or paddle boards and explore the Estate’s private lakes.
